hi we just bought our first laser. its an amada lc 1212 pulsar. its a 95 with fanuc controls. my question that i need to ask is, what is the best kind of software out there for lasers? currently we use mastercam for our machining centers, but ive heard that its not vary user friendly. i was looking through some of the forums and someone mentioned using metacam. not sure about this program just want to get other peoples feedback. also looking for someone in central california to talk to over the phone who programs lasers. i have a lot of questions to ask. thank you tim

I say depending on your budget you should look at either AP100US (Amada) and if you have the budget swing for the fence and get MetaCAM. Trust me, you will not regret it. It has an awesome CAD/CAM package and it is far superior than AP100US.
Lantek is very good too, it comes from Spain. MetaCAM is from India and Amada/Mitsubishi sell it under a different name.
Good luck on your search
